CMM were sponsors of the Local Government Procurement Expo 2021. This event was held, like many others, for the first time, virtually.
Supported by the Local Government Association, the virtual day featured:
- An interactive product showcase exhibition
- 3 Skills Academy zones featuring over 30 speakers.
- Networking lounge and topical discussion boards
It was a busy day for all involved! There was a virtual exhibition hall for all exhibitors to showcase their virtual booth. There was also an auditorium for the 3 skills academy zones, where the speaking agenda covered many topical issues faced by Local Government currently.
We’re hoping to share our speaking agenda session on ‘The challenges faced by local authorities to accelerate Modern Methods of Construction (MMC) and procurement barriers’ shortly on our website.
Project Director of Bristol Housing Festival Jeremy Sweetland and Bristol City Council Project Lead for the Innovate UK project Jacqueline Miller come together to discuss the challenges faced by local authorities to accelerate Modern Methods of Construction (MMC) and procurement barriers.
This talk tackles key issues around how MMC can help local authorities to battle the housing crisis, the major barriers to enabling value-led procurement and the economic case for MMC. Jeremy and Jacqueline also reflect on the work being done under ‘Enabling Housing innovation for Inclusive Growth’ project funded by Innovate UK.
